Localist Announcement: Complex Schedules Made Simple
Every event happens on its own schedule – and often, it happens more than once. From bi-weekly clubs to monthly speaker series, some of the most popular events are those that take place multiple times in a set period.
Here at Localist, we’re making it even easier for you to schedule events of this type. Today, we’re excited to announce some big changes to our recurring events interface.
- You can now have events with multiple times on the same day. No more needing to copy the same event just to have a separate time. A lot of work went into ensuring the presentation for these kinds of events is intuitive to your audience. No other calendar software in the world does this!
- We’ve completely redesigned the date entry experience, giving you the ability to create very complex schedules in just a few clicks.
What might complex schedules look like? The options are infinite, but some popular recurrences include:
Recurring in the same week
Let’s say you want to set a recurring event for disparate days of the week. Your club may meet every Monday and Thursday – a schedule out of the M/W/F or T/Th norm, but nothing that Localist can’t handle!
Recurring in the same day
Alternatively, your organization may have a film being shown twice in the same day. Rather than making a different event for each, you can use the new Localist interface to set this as a recurring event, with two different times throughout the day.
Recurring on the same day of the month
Say, for instance, that you want to set a recurring event on the second Tuesday of every month. You won’t need to look ahead to what date that Tuesday falls on over the next few months. Simply type in your start date and then select the recurrence to fall on “the second Tuesday.”
Recurring on the same date of the month
It might be the case, however, that you don’t want an event to recur on a certain day of the month, but rather on a specific date. No problem! Enter your start date and you’ll see an option for it to recur on “the 28th day” or whatever the date may be.
These are just some of the complex schedules you can now easily set with the Localist recurring event interface. Read the Knowledge Base article for information on how to do so, and check it out for yourself now in the admin dashboard.
