- How can I share my business outside of its profile?
As stated above, we'll soon be offering ways to share your business with others, without requiring them to stumble across your profile. If you add some events, it will increase your business' popularity, which may help it get listed on the city pages, which are the most viewed pages on Localist.
- What are "Plans"?
Plans are informal events you make with friends. Pick a date, location and invite people in just a few seconds. It's a great way to organize a night out or simply to keep track of where you're going.
- My business already has a website. Why is using my Localist business profile better?
In short, it saves you from having to constantly update your events. We do it for you! Linking people to your Localist profile ensures they'll be getting the most up-to-date information about who your patrons are and what upcoming events you're having.
- Can I take over the profile for my business?
Yes, very soon. We'll be adding a link on all business profiles to give owners and managers the option to take over the profile. They will then be responsible for keeping their upcoming events in order.
- Is it worth taking over the profile for my business?
Absolutely! Taking over your business' profile gives you access to many features, including: live statistics based on where your patrons are going and who your close competitors are, unobtrusive communication with your patrons, access to more advertising possibilities and more.
- I added my event, but it's not showing up in the public listing. How come?
If you have a business or performer profile and your events aren't showing up in any of our lists, it's probably because we haven't verified your profile yet. We want to make sure all business profiles are accurate and informative. Sometimes it takes us a little while to check things. If it's been 48 hours since you created your business account, contact support and we'll let you know what's up.
- How do I post a public event?
If you'd like to add an event that isn't in Localist, first search for the event name, then click the "suggest" button when it doesn't appear. You can always e-mail the event information to events@localist.com too. We'll soon be adding an easy event creation tool for everyone to use.
- Can I import/export to Google Calendar and iCal?
Right now you can't, but we'll be working on a way for you to do this in the future.
- Do you really list every event in DC and Baltimore?
We do our best to keep our event listings up-to-date, but it's always possible that we'll miss something. That's where you come in. If you're know of an awesome event that you want everyone to come to, send the event details in an e-mail to events@localist.com.
- Can I close my account?
