The sets were awesome, and the performances were spot on, but (and I've been told this is par for the operatic course) every scene ended with a protracted series of curtain calls. zzzz. AND I didn't see Placido Domingo anywhere.

Took my dad to see Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Orchestra for his Christmas present. We had front row seats, which made the concert feel like a private viewing. Wynton is a legend and he didn't disappoint.

Pink Martini was incredible as always. We had front row seats and met the band after the show. All of them are absurdly friendly and stayed for nearly 2 hours after the performance ended. If you haven't seen Pink Martini before, what is wrong with you?

Spectacular costumes, color, and acting. There were supposed to be supertitles, but there weren't, which made it difficult to follow at times (everything was in Japanese). But overall, it was a beautiful performance and we loved it.

This was my first time at an opera and I went in with low expectations. Sure, it's the Kennedy Center, but 4 hours of signing? It turns out my worries were completely unnecessary. The opera flew by like a great movie does, and the performances were absolutely incredible.

I could have sat through another hour. The Kirov Opera hails from St. Petersburg and is one of the most renowned in the world. The Opera Hall at the Kennedy Center was a great venue, and the supertitles (singing was in Russian) were easy to follow. The story was fascinating and the dozens of actors were superb.

Opera sound boring? Get tickets to an interesting show with a great troupe and you won't be disappointed.
