The must-go-to bar to see reputable indie bands. Three bars, two stages, and a vegan-friendly cafe. You sorely lack credibility if you do not come here at least once when in DC. Thats like not going to Graceland when you're in Memphis, man!
Detailed Directions: Nearest Metro station is U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo (Green Line)
Parking: Street

I saw Jens Lekman here a few months ago. One of the best shows I've ever attended. A more intimate feeling than 9:30, with some very big names.

Coming in last place was Torche. All their songs were in D or B. I like slow metal as much as anyone, but I can't take a dude with a shaven head+goatee combo seriously. PLUS he looked like he got dressed at Old Navy. I've heard it all, guys...I'm into "seeing it properly" now.
Jesu was really good, the show was okay, but I spent the majority of the time playing QIX on the tabletop machine downstairs with Sonny
Fog took the prize for best surprise of the night, with a Thom Yorke/Steven Immerwehr wannabe on vocals/guitar and a goofy looking bassist who sang EXACTLY like Peter Murphy.
