As much as I was looking forward to Nick Cave, the treble at 9:30 Club was tweaked just a tad too high. Many of the songs were just noise to my ears and sounded nothing like what you'd usually hear on his records. Sure, you could chalk it up to being different in a live performance, but I really think it could have sounded better.
He did play Red Right Hand though, which is cool :)

Violens were a little rough, but MGMT was spot-on. The crowd was digging it and 930 was a great venue as usual. Hell of a fun show.

The DJ's before were great. I didn't get to hear MSTRKRFT unfortunately, but I bet they were awesome. Then some punk punched me in the chest and tried to take my friend's iTouch. He messed with the wrong skinny bitch.

Stars put on an amazing show. The crowd was into it from the beginning, and the band was surprised and happy so many people showed up. 9:30 is always a great, intimate venue to see the smaller artists and Stars did not disappoint.

Okay, so I didn't actually attend the show due to a scheduling conflict and the fact that Dasha couldn't get off work early. BUT, Matt Nathanson is amazing live and I bet he put on a top-notch performance. He's one of my favorite artists to see play, and 9:30 would have been a great venue. Plus, he's just a very chill guy to talk to, and always comes to hang out with the audience after his shows. If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend going to see him and his guitar.
