Content Marketing Manager

The Content Marketing Manager is the Picasso of Localist.

Ultimately through content, you will paint our story as a leading event software company.

The Content Marketing Manager will develop and execute Localist's content marketing strategy developing a wide-range assortment of content that touches our buyer's entire journey from lead acquisition to close. You’ll be the voice of our marketing messaging from blog posts and email copy, to white papers and templates. Additionally, you are able to write powerful, sales-driven digital and print promotions designed to increase response rates.

In order to thrive in this role, you must be able to conduct thorough research (online and offline) to understand our customers and influencers across multiple verticals. You will also work closely with the marketing, sales and support teams to understand multiple perspectives. Experience in the B2B industry, especially event marketing or event software is a plus.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop annual content strategy and quarterly content plans that align to division goals
  • Work closely with the VP of Marketing to continually refine the voice of our corporate brand and products, and convey this in all content strategies
  • Produce and manage distribution of high quality materials including blog posts, website copy, email campaigns, newsletters, press releases, product brochures, internal communications, marketing materials, and other materials requested by management
  • Write detailed customer case success stories and white papers to educate target audiences and/or highlight the effectiveness of products and solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams, and conduct market research to understand unique needs of key customer segments, and create content that positions company as a thought/product leader within these segments
  • Develop script for videos and webinars as needed
  • Create daily/weekly content for social media platforms across different portfolios
  • Measure and optimize content based on analytics
  • Manage the social media marketing strategy, focusing on appropriate social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, etc.) This includes execution of all social media activities (e.g. tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking, increasing social media reach, etc.)

The ideal candidate has

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Creative Writing, Communications, Journalism, English or a related field
  • 5+ years professional writing and editing experience
  • B2B and/or software experience
  • Experience developing content and writing for direct, digital, white papers, and case studies, or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • Experience writing/editing/publishing SEO optimized content specific for the web
  • An ability and willingness to conduct research above and beyond the information provided
  • Excellent writing skills, including strong copy editing skills
  • A strong ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
  • A sense of fun wrapped in hard work
  • A Mac, or a willingness to be baptized as a Mac user
