Its a coffee house, sushi bar, and cocktail bar. The incongruity is entirely intentional, as it has something for everybody at every hour of the day. Stop in for breakfast, walk down from the office for lunch, come back for the DJs and happy hour specials. Heck, why bother leaving?

I used to frequent XS a lot to grab a sushi roll on a dull night, but stopped going for some reason. My girlfriend and I stopped by again for dinner. I had their signature burger which was ridiculously good. The prices are actually much cheaper than you'd expect.

They really have the best French toast to grace B'more. Fruit is in huge portions with almost every breakfast dish. You can order greasy stuff without feeling guilty. XS's front door boasts 0 trans fat, so there seems to be some pride there in preparing healthy meals. They have good sushi too. I could get fat there. Well, no, that would negate everything I just said. I would only feel fat because I would eat everything except for their panini bread. They don't have wireless internet anymore, so a long time has passed since I ate there this day. Staff changes a lot too which I don't particularly like. My experience at XS today was good food, not-so-good environment.

Great food, great atmosphere, great music and open late. What else could you want? We got lucky and were seated quickly despite XS being packed. The Pad Thai was excellent as always, as was the Lobster sushi roll. Good times.

This place is very inviting as both a work environment and place to eat. I've found myself tapping away on my laptop while sipping a warm drink, then inviting a friend to join me for dinner.
