This bar is something of an entertainment complex, with big dancefloors, a video bar, a cocktail lounge/saloon. It was voted best gay bar in Maryland by the City Paper, AOL Cityguide, and the Washington Blade.

Getting Here
Detailed Directions: South on I-83 (Jones Falls Expressway) and take Maryland Avenue. exit. At the light, make a left onto Maryland Avenue. Maryland Avenue becomes Cathedral Street. Continue down Catheral and make a left onto W. Eager Street. The Hippo is on the corner of Eager Street and Charles Street.
Parking: Metered parking is available on nearby city streets. Parking lot across the street from the Hippo, on Eager Street, also provides parking. Hourly rates apply.
