Baltimore and Washington are separated by a mere 30 mile stretch of highway which goes through 4 counties and contains areas of interest to both major cities. The Baltimore/Washington International Airport, located here, serves both, and the MARC commuter train line connects the nascent twin cities by rapid transit. Two major highways, I-95, and 295, serve the area and allow much more space to be conveniently accessed by visitors and residents of either city.
